At the IBA Human Resources Conference on April 17, Karel Murray shared a four sentence story with the audience. After reading the story, she asked ten true/false questions about the story. The average number right was five. Participants then formed groups and answered the questions again. Scores improved, but still were not perfect. The purpose of the exercise (in addition to listening) was to be careful about misconceptions, emotional responses, and making judgements. Here is the story and questions to share the exercise with your team.
