The January issue of the ABA Banking Journal has a feature article on Governor Keating. Keating discusses his role leading the American Bankers Association, advocating for the nation’s banks. The former governor of Oklahoma realizes the job of association executive involves politics and playing offense more than defense to make sure the banking industry is represented fairly and factually. “If I were a bank CEO, I’d like to be able to turn on CNBC or FOX or read a newspaper and see that my trade association is defending me against unfair criticism, or advancing a positive agenda.” Keating says.
