With the proliferation of how much time we spend online and how much content is published to the internet, it is easy to establish an online identity. Social networking, job search sites, mentions on websites can all create an online indentity – true or not, wanted or not. With the launch of Google’s Me On the Web, there is now a tool to help you manage your online identity. The new application is available to anyone with a free Google account and is available through the site’s dashboard section. Me On the Web helps people track online mentions by setting up a custom alert for mentions of a e-mail address or other custom information. In addition, the site offers tools for monitoring information and removing erroneous postings. Find Me On the Web by setting up a Google Account and accessing the Google Dashboard.
